The ‘Tara Sketchbook’ was an attempt of mine to do two things I had never done in a sketchbook before:  have a consistent style throughout, and finish it cover to cover.  Like most artists, sketchbooks are a mess of ideas, half-formed, half-realized, that evolve over pages, in my sleep, whenever.  I wanted this sketchbook to be a complete document of finished sketches.  The theme, with the exception of the portraits, was a water one.
