My newest love is animation. I recently took a year-long, intensive course on 3D character design and animation. It was mainly to break some of the bad habits I had developed self-teaching myself various 3D programs; the animation portion of the course was just kind of a bonus.
Through the class, I found I really loved animation and now have the new goal of breaking into this field. The demo reel is still a work in progress, but it’s getting there.
I’ve been planning on making a short of a chapter from Stephen King’s “The Gunslinger.” Eventually, it’ll consist of over 50 characters and an entire town. Below is a “mock up,” kind of a low-poly, simple, “moving storyboard.” This allows me to see how a scene would look in motion before I commit hours to actually creating the scene.
One of the first projects I took on after graduating from the course was to take all I had learned and make a music video for my friends’ band. Turned out well, for a first attempt, taking about three months from start to finish. I was pretty limited in resources, computer-wise, and I really want to go back and remake this at some point.
Seriously like the new design. I liked this article. Thank you for the brilliant write.
I just hope whoever writes these keeps wirntig more!
It was dark when I woke. This is a ray of susnhnie.
